My sister is having the time of her life in Cape May and taking some great photographs that are sparking my creativity. Here come a bunch of shore paintings!
I am moving on. Last year, I took on the challenge of unlocking the creative spirit to see how art can help in the healing and grieving process by creating 365 days of art. My husband of 25 years died suddenly of a heart attack on October 7, 2006. This day, I am in a new place where art is a collaboration of inspiration from the unique perspective that one person, object, or experience can bring to our lives for change. I am anxious to see what is over the horizon.

I Dreamed a Dream
There was a time when men were kind
When their voices were soft
And their words inviting
There was a time when love was blind
And the world was a song
And the song was exciting
There was a time
Then it all went wrong
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
And they turn your dream to shame
He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came
And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.

Someones words can mean a moment of ecstasy, sorrow or change in your life. They can inspire or denigrate. I found some written words by my husband yesterday. It was an unexpected moment of surprise to see his handwriting. I felt elated, sad and then grateful for the moment. It was like he was connecting to me from another time and place. His favorite quote was the Robert Browning line from Andrea del Sarto. I have adopted it as my own, as his and mine.

I am behind in posting again! Working on so many projects so I decided to post a small piece of a big painting I'm working on. Thought for the day...
1. The healthy habit that feels most like a luxury needs to become a daily necessity.
For me this would be exercising. Making sure I have the time. Secondly it's reading - ANYTHING! That is a must to make time for!
More tomorrow!
