Unfinished WatercolorMaundy Thursday is also known as “Holy Thursday” and is the day on which Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples (the Last Supper). Jesus also washed the disciples' feet as an act of humility and service showing that we should try to love and serve one another in the same manner without accolades as to how wonderful we are for doing so. Today starts the celebration of Easter with reflection on Christ's humility. He didn't come in with guns blazing, scaring everyone off with fancy rhetoric and cries of denigration. Instead, He humbly offered himself to others with REAL love. It's a hard act to follow, but one I would like to.
