Day 183 - Psalm

Watercolor

Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Day 182 - Official

Photoshop Painting
This marks the official 6 month day of my blog. It seems everyone is seeking peace that I am talking to including myself so this hymn from my childhood sprang into my thoughts.

"When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul."

Thanks Mom and Dad for the faith you gave me.

Day 181 - Little

Watercolor

There are so many little things I never seem to get around to do because of work, commitments and life. I read Cheryl Richardson's post on doing the spontaneous things that make us feel more alive and connected to ourselves. She compiled her list and so I wanted to compose mine:

1. Finish reading the books I have started - Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, Autobiography of William Blake and the Twelve Secrets of Highly Creative Women.

2. Ride my bike - I've only done my 20 mile trek once this summer. I would like to go at least every other weekend.

3. Create a journal just for fun.

4. Create a vision board.

5. Walk with my dog on the Appalachian Trail to collect wildflowers.

6. Visit the library more often just to browse.

7. Start a new scrapbook.

She said that these are the things that add richness to our lives and they often get put away for endless responsibilities.

Time to make these a priority.

Day 180 - Business

Photoshop

The business side of my art has finally come into some clarity. I will be selling prints, cards, and original art on a new web site I am building. Oh yes, the name of the site is "In My Sister's Garden". inmysistersgarden.com

More to follow!

Day 179 - Close

Watercolor

It is hard to believe that I am almost through half a year with my blog. I have had so much happen in the past 6 months - mostly very good. I feel God has provided a way for me to heal through this blog, my family and friends. I have many moments of peace and some not so peaceful. I guess that is how life cycles and if we are fortunate enough to find those moments of peace and balance them with the challenges, we can be grateful for the journey.

As a Christian, I look this this verse tonight. No matter what your faith, it is good to give thanks in all circumstances. We don't know the good that will come from the difficult.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Day 178 - Resting

Watercolor

I have been working so much that I am forgetting what it feels like to rest. I know it's necessary but I feel such compulsion to finish my work and produce more. Tomorrow I will take the morning to make time for thought...

Day 177 - Play

Photoshop

I am addicted to Photoshop CS5. Onto more fun.
